AMISH FURNITURE
Timeless Craftsmanship

Over a century ago, the "Arts and Crafts" movement brought a fresh perspective to the American scene.  Its major innovation was to abandon the overly ornate details of earlier lines for simpler, sparer lines that emphasized strength, durability and hand craftsmanship.  In the intervening years, these tenets have largely given way to machine automation and cost cutting both here at home, and within factories around the world.

Does this mean that the ideals of yesterday's craftsmen have become obsolete and unobtainable?  By no means.  Here at Miller's Furniture, we've continued to be a major source for some of the finest traditional furniture ever made.

We carry extensive lines of shop-crafted furniture, lovingly and unhurriedly built by the skilled Amish and Mennonite woodworkers of LaGrange County, Indiana and Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. For them, today's shortcuts and compromises are never to be permitted.  Rather, only the finest woods, woods hand selected for beauty, function and durability are used. Only the best joinery, fastenings, and time-tested finishing techniques are utilized.  In most cases, custom features, sizing, hardware and even finishes can be special ordered.  And best of all, the prices are very affordable.  The furniture produced by these workshops represents some of the finest overall values of any that we currently carry.

Their resulting creations will enhance your living and working spaces for years to come.  It's no exaggeration for us to predict that if "Antiques Roadshow" is still on the air fifty or even a hundred years from now, you can expect some of these pieces to quite possibly catch center stage.

Don't confuse this furniture with other rustic "Amish" lines that you may have become accustomed to find at a camp or resort. Please visit our showroom and touch, sit on, or open the doors and drawers of hand made furniture. Discover a deep appreciation for the beauty, function, construction, and hidden secrets that only a small fraction of furniture found within the marketplace offer today.  Challenge yourself to try to find even a single flaw or imperfection, at least one not attributable to nature.  Compare these pieces with the furniture you now have, or find elsewhere.  Our Amish and Mennonite furniture is for a lifetime and more, as are the professional and personal relationships we’ve developed with these outstanding craftsmen, their families, and their communities as well.
